I thought it would be a nice idea to create a post about photographers who i have admired over the years, and ones who i have just discovered due to Image and Data Visualisation Lectures.
I do love to research local artists as i love to see beautiful photographs of places or things i’m likely to have been/seen. Ciaran Tully takes some lovely photos, some in less traditional ways, such as using motion blur and motion capture, and of course changing shutter speed. Most of his photos are based in Dublin, but the one below is my favorite of the old dog at the farm, i think making this photo black and white helps depict a story behind the shot.
Aiden McFadden is another Dublin photographer, who’s images really do tell a story
The image below tells tales of a lonely soul, perhaps troubled, it also makes me think of Johnny Cash’s Man in Black.
I find this image quite sad, the pesron who these feet belong too is wearing a white dress, perhaps a wedding dress, and there are petals on the floor, i imagine that she is sitting thinking about wether she wants to marry or perhaps is crying, the red shoes also make me think of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, is this how her story ends?
Although i have no name behind the images other than the company Valiatfotography, i couldn’t not share them, although some are highly edited, they are beautiful, and based around Portrush, one of my favorite places to be in Ireland.
This is the Arcadia in Portrush, somewhere were my mother and i spent a lot of my childhood, even on the coldest days we would swim and bring a nice hot flask of tea for afterwards.
Belfast skyline at night
I have no idea how they captured such a beautiful night sky or how edited this is, but it is beautiful. Truly stunning.
